About

Why Foodspace

There is an abundance of research exploring how to make healthy & sustainable food choices the norm. These findings get applied in large controlled environments like restaurants, colleges, universities, and workplace settings, which can be optimized to support health & wellbeing.

The Problem: This research has been largely inaccessible for individuals to learn and implement in their own environment. I see an opportunity to make behavioral science and food choice architecture more accessible.

What is Foodspace: A Food Choice Architecture-based approach to healthy eating.

What we’re solving for: How to make sustainable food choices for lasting behavior change.

Who is this course for? Anyone with a desire to learn how to harness the power of food choice architecture to improve the health of individuals, communities, and the planet. This may be Dietitians, Health professionals, or individuals looking for a new way to approach healthy eating for themselves and their family.

What you get: An informative course and actionable strategies to implement in any food environment.

Why it works: The approach relies on behavioral science strategies that are proven effective, while playing off how we make decisions to make our foodpsace work for us. The nutrition approach is rooted in our autopilot decision making processes in the brain, knowing that people are busy, irrational and emotional. Foodspace focuses on the power of our environment to create scenarios that make the healthy choice the easiest choice.

Foodspace Values

Mission: To provide evidence-based solutions that support the health of people and the planet.

Vision: To create environments where eating healthy is easy.

Purpose: To ensure a healthier future.

About

Foodspace was started by me, Sheryl Allen. I am a mom of two kiddos and I am passionate about enabling the next generation to be sustainable, conscious eaters.

I am also a data-driven Scientist, Dietitian, and someone who cares deeply about how food can support a healthy body, mind, and planet.

As a Dietitian, I have spent the last 9 years enabling people to make sustainable food choices in the corporate dining setting in Google offices globally.

I do this work because the food environment we often find ourselves in is not conducive to a healthy lifestyle. We blame ourselves for our poor food choices, and the poor food choices of our kids. What so many people don’t realize is how powerful our food environment is and the role it plays when making day-to-day food choices. My goal to channel this power of behavioral economics and use it in a way that nourishes our bodies, minds, and planet, now and in the years to come.
